Classy Pogo wins on seasonal debut

Pogo, who is very much one of our favourites in the yard due to his big personality and obvious ability(!), made a winning seasonal debut in the listed race at Leicester. We were worried he might just be caught out by race fit rivals, but he had enough class to see them off despite Kieran Shoemark reporting he had a good blow after the race and thought he was probably on 80% fit. This bodes well as we go forward into the season and the Lockinge Stakes will be his next target. It’ll be a tough one, but he is versatile regarding the ground and always does his best so we go there with a fighting chance. He will almost certainly be a horse we campaign abroad as the year goes on.
