Khaadem follows in Battaash’s footsteps

This time last year we were really scratching our heads where Khaadem was concerned, and even tried him over seven furlongs. However this tricky but very talented horse highlighted where his strengths lay when breaking the track record at Doncaster over five furlongs in the blinkers at the St Leger Meeting. It didn’t really happen for him in Dubai over the winter, however you can’t knock his record this season and his win in the King George at Goodwood gave us so much satisfaction. We were also delighted for owners Jim and Fitri Hay who put their money where their mouth was with both this horse and Equilateral, and have been rewarded handsomely. We now have to look to York and the Nunthorpe. Although he didn’t lead at Goodwood he has plenty of speed which will stand him in good stead at York where you have needed to be on the pace this season. Exciting times!
